I initially had no idea that there were so many amazing BLUES festivals in Spain. You are sure to find one close to you in this list of blues festivals in Spain and Portugal.

Most of these festivals take place over the warm summer months, and many of them even take place on beaches and other equally cool summertime festival venues

Blues Cerdanyola

The oldest blues festival in Spain

The Cerdanyola International Blues Festival (FIBC) saw the light of day for the first time in 1988 as a vindication of a musical movement and at the same time with the intention that, over time, it would publicize and position Cerdanyola del Vallès as an important city in the cultural field.

Frank Rock & Blues Festival

Frank Rock and Blues Festival that has been held in Torreperogil since 1999. With great bands of the national scene such as Uncle Sal, The Kleejoss Band, The Soul Jacket, Susan Santos, Julián Maeso or Travellin'Brothers. We have continued to maintain the premise of promoting local bands such as Cave Experience or Purple Cuervosand nearby towns such as Four Strings or Hobo Nata. As far as international bands are concerned, we have had legendary musicians making their only appearance in Spain such as Savoy Brownor important bands on a European tour such as Devon Allman and Duane Betts.

Blues Cazorla Festival

Since 1994, the Blues Cazorla Festival has been held over a few days in July in the town of Cazorla (Jaén province).

 

It takes in a broad array of concerts by outstanding Spanish and international groups and soloists, as well as acoustic performances. The event takes place at three different venues: the BluesCazorla stage in the bullring, the Sennheiser stage in the Cristo Auditorium, and the Caledonia stage in Plaza de Santa María square. There are also parallel activities and exhibitions held in the Merced Theatre.

The Corbera Blues Festival aims to promote a music born at the begining of the 20th Century among African-American slave communities who worked the cotton fields on the South of the United States.

Their goal is to put the blues in the place it deserves and make people know a style of music that is the father of modern music. They want to make the Corbera Blues Festival grow every year and become the festival for all those who, like us, love this music.

ESpanish Blues Festival in Madrid started in 2013 as Spain's first ever blues dance festival. They are dedicated to bringing you the best blues musicians and dance teachers. So if you love dancing and blues this is the festival for you and in 2023 they will be celebrating 10 years.

Rock and River Blues festival in PUENTE GENIL fills its streets with BLUES at the end of June, with nightly concerts, blues and culture.

THE INTERNATIONAL BLUES FESTIVAL OF CÁCERES

The inernational Blues Festival of Cáceres was born with the aim of disseminating and promoting Blues music. It is a free and quality festival with international blues artists.

The concerts take place in the Plaza de Santa María, in the month of October

The festival is held in the Plaza del Escribano, located within the Alcazaba of Antequera, in this square is the Royal Collegiate Church of Santa María la Mayor and the Roman baths. It is celebrated on the weekends of July, during which Antequera becomes the nerve center of the blues.

Pueblos Blancos Music Festival

The Pueblos Blancos Music Festival is a musical festival that brings together Ronda, Montejaque and Grazalema with Austin and Nashville. For four days in summer, jeans replace berets in the squares of four villages of whitewashed houses overlooking the valley. And the popular music that is heard is, above all, the American one. About twenty bands mostly from Austin, Houston and Nashville share concerts and musical experiences with local groups. Rock, blues, country, Tex-Mex, jazz, funk and R&B reverbrating down the valley.
